We always aim to create a coffee that matches the flavours of the season as well as showcases the best of what we’ve sampled and loved here at the roastery. Where better to start then, than an Ethiopian natural, from Chelbesa (sourced through Falcon Specialty). We’ve been aware of Chelbesa for some time and always associated their coffees with a remarkable quality and consistency, and this coffee jumped out to us with a fruity and citrusy vibrancy that was special even for Ethiopian standards!
As for what to pair it with? Well, when we received samples from our friends in Guatemala at Primavera Coffee (the people behind our popular Primavera Family coffee), we were amazed by ‘El Durazno washed’ (farmed by Octavia Lopez). El Durazno translates from Latin American Spanish to ‘The Peach’, and is name after the peach trees found at the farm. The coffee therefore tastes overwhelmingly (you guessed it)… peachy! We loved the sweetness and the rich peachy body and had to find a way to bring the coffee to the roastery.
The two coffees both complement each other and shine themselves to create a wonderfully sweet and summery drink. We taste strawberries, lemon and peach ice tea, fruit cheesecake and maple syrup.
The Barics blend is designed to work well in all brewing methods, as a funky alternative espresso, a smooth and fruity filter, or a crisp and refreshing cold brew! We say have a go with all available to you, and enjoy the process!
And the tasting notes...just for you ducky!
We taste strawberries, lemon and peach ice tea, fruit cheesecake and maple syrup.
Blend Y Barics will change with the seasons and harvests, so come along for the ride and enjoy what we're drinking at the roastery.
