This classic South American cooperative coffee makes up a good proportion of our Landmark Blend. When roasted solo it mellows out and is allowed to show off the innate acidity alongside the rich, chocolatey body.
The Sol y Cafe co-op was founded in 2005 and we have been using their coffee since the formation. Formed of around 60 producer associations around Jaen, Northern Peru, the cooperative is a support network for just over 1000 farmer families. Families are expected to contribute to the development of the cooperative and to bring at least 51% of their produced coffee. This helps to guarantee sale of their coffees and gives reliability to coffee buyers.
